On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Saturday October 4th 2014) we take the following viewer email questions:
DeMarcus Wilson writes: Saw that you guys put up a Gone Girl spoilers review, but since I’m still deciding if I should see it or not, would you mind doing a little non-spoiler review for it? I mean, just basically what did you think about it?
Joseph Claypole writes: I travel to and from work each day with an hour long commute, your show makes every second worth it. I heard that a reboot and a franchise are in the works for I am Legend. I did not particularly care for the more recent version starring Will Smith because it strayed so far away from the source material. What are your thoughts on this becoming a franchise and who would you like to see direct the first film of the reboot?
Ore Bolarin writes: Hi guys, love what you do and keep up the great Quality. I recently thought about the best Animated Feature at the Oscars and how it's a bit of a joke, as many undeserving films win such as Last Year when Frozen won over The Croods and Despicable Me 2 When even Monsters University wasn't nominated and In 2012 when Brave won over Wreck-It-Ralph. I just wanted hear your thoughts and whether you think the same way, Thanks and bring o the filthy.
Michael Schepis writes: My question is this: Do you think Star Wars episode 7 will do better or worse at the box office then episode 1 did? Episode 1 had the benefit of of coming off of return of the Jedi and being the first new star wars in a while, and episode 7 is coming off of the prequels but is also the first new star wars film in a while. How good does star wars 7 have to be to counteract this fact and beat episode 1's box office number?
John Chu writes: What's up AMC!! love your guys show!! My question is about Michael B Jordan portraying Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic 4 reboot. I read a lot of comments on articles. Mostly all the comments are negative towards Johnny being a different race. I don't see the problem with it whatsoever. Why do you think fans/movie-goers get so uptight when movies change one thing, (like Johnny being a different race) when it doesn`t really effect anything?
Bill Labonia writes: Any news on the Mortal kombat Remake? I heard the guy from Mortal Kombat Legacy was going to direct the full feature film. is that happening? be excellent to each other and PARTY ON DUDES!
Matt writes: Hey guys, really dig your show, here's my question, is there a movie that you enjoyed and would have loved a sequel too but it never happen because of disappointing box office
John Chatman writes: Greetings AMC crew. I love your show and it has become a part of my daily routine. My question is in regard to the rumor I read today that Robert Downey JR would agree to do Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson directed it. Now, I know this is just a rumor and that NOTHING has been confirmed or verified. However, just speaking hypothetically, could you see a scenario where RDJ would approach Marvel Studios and say to them that he would do Iron Man 4 only if they hired Gibson to direct it?
