The Brazilian army is continuing its battle against some of the fires that are destroying large swathes of the Amazon rainforest. The fires have also spread to Bolivia. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonoro has come under immense international pressure to take action against the fires. European leaders have threatened ending a huge trade deal with Brazil and other South American countries unless action is taken. G7 leaders agreed to a 20 million dollar fund to offer financial and technical assistance to those countries fighting the Amazon fires.
