AM / ARE / IS: How to Use the BE Verb in English in the Simple Present! 現在形でBE動詞を使う方法！

To Be or not to Be! The ‘Be’ verb is the most important verb in English! Using the Be verb incorrectly is one of the biggest mistakes students make, but don’t worry because in today’s English lesson you will learn everything you need to know about how to use the be verb correctly in English!

In English there are 3 different forms of the be verb in simple present (am, are, is). You will learn when to use am, when to use are, and when to use is:
I = am
You = are
He = is
She = is
It = is
They = are
We = are

You can join the subject and the be verb together with an apostrophe to make a contraction. For negative sentences you can join the be verb and not together to make contractions. The be verb contractions are:
I am = I’m
You are = you’re / You are not = you aren’t
He is = he’s / He is not = he isn’t
She is = she’s / She is not = she isn’t
It is = it’s / It is not = it isn’t
They are = they’re / They are not = they aren’t
We are = we’re / We are not = we aren’t

A sentence is made up of: subject + verb + object. When making sentences with the be verb in the simple present, the object of your sentence must be a noun or an adjective. ( Remember: Noun = person, place, animal, thing. Adjective = descriptive word to give more information about a noun.)

Here are some important grammar tips for using the be verb:
How to make sentences with the be verb in the simple present:
Subject + 'Be' verb + Object.
Examples: I am a teacher. She is happy. They are yellow.

How to make negative sentences with the be verb in the simple present: Subject + 'Be' verb + Not + Object.
Examples: I’m not sad. It isn’t sunny. We are not sleepy.

How to make Questions with the be verb in the simple present:
-Y/N Questions with the Be verb:
'Be' verb + Subject + Object?
Examples: Are you Canadian? Is he a doctor? Are we cute?
-WH Questions with the Be verb:
WH + 'Be' verb + Subject + Object?
Examples: Where are you from? What time is it? How old are they?

AM / ARE / IS: 現在形でBE動詞を使う方法！

To Be又not to Be! Be動詞は英語で最も重要な動詞です。 Be動詞を誤って使う事は、学習者が犯す最大の間違いの1つですが、今日の英語の授業では、英語でbe動詞を正しく使う方法について知っておく必要がある全てを学ぶので心配しないでください！

英語では、現在形（am、are、is）に3つの異なる形のbe動詞があります。 am,are,isをいつ使うかを学ぶ。
I = am
You = are
He = is
She = is
It = is
They = are
We = are

主語とbe動詞をアポストロフィで結合して、短縮する事ができます。否定的な文の場合、縮約するためにbe動詞とnotを一緒にして短縮形を作る事ができます。be動詞の短縮形は次のとおりです。
I am = I'm
You are = you’re / You are not = you aren’t
He is = he’s / He is not = he isn’t
She is = she’s / She is not = she isn’t
It is = it’s / It is not = it isn’t
They are = they’re / They are not = they aren’t
We are = we’re / We are not = we aren’t

文は、主語+動詞+目的語で構成されます。現在形でbe動詞を使う文を作る場合、文の目的語は名詞又形容詞でなければなりません。 （覚えておいてください：名詞=人、場所、動物、事。形容詞=名詞に関する詳細な情報を提供する説明的な単語。）

次に、be動詞を使う為の重要な文法のヒントをいくつか示します。 現在形でbe動詞を使って文を作る方法： 主語Be動詞+目的語。

現在形でbe動詞を使って否定的な文を作る
方法：主語+Be動詞+Not+目的語。

現在形でbe動詞を使って質問を作る方法：
-Y / N質問、Be動詞：Be動詞+主語+目的語例
-Be動詞を使ったWHの質問： WH + 'Be'動詞+主語+目的語。
