During filming alligator hatchlings I often came across catfish plashing wildly onto the water surface. It seems that the fish are feeding on small insects that reside close to the surface. Most of the alligator hatchlings were still to small to prey on the catfish but nevertheless, the young alligators were keeping a close eye on the splashing fish. Regardless, I was very impressed and decided to film the fish congregating in large numbers in the channels during the Florida’s dry season. Alligators and catfish was filmed by Heiko Kiera in 2010.
