All bands break up eventually, but many do it when they're absolutely spent: creatively, relationally, and health-wise. No matter what heights the band previously achieved, they typically resolve things on a slightly lower note, so many final albums are not remembered as well as their classics. Because fans like to remember bands at their best, oftentimes bands' last days also rarely discussed. Sometimes getting together for one last record is what makes bands realize that they've reached the end of the road.
