Gopi (Mithun Chakraborty) is a honest rustic soul who comes to the city after a brutal clash with the village landlord. Once in the metropolis, fate intervenes and Gopi lands right into the middle of a glamorous lifestyle led by Johny. Johny, who happens to be a look alike of Gopi, is a popular singer who, unknown to the world, is also a crafty member of the underworld. Johny decides to use the naive Gopi in escaping the law. He along with his accomplice Rita, get Gopi to impersonate him.
