Rain cuts short Wesak Day procession
The procession only managed to complete about 30% of the 12km route that was originally planned.
Launched by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, the procession had started at 6.30pm from Jalan Berhala in Brickfields with 25 brightly coloured floats making its way around the city centre.
It ended back at the Buddist Maha Vihara (BMV) temple about 10.30pm.
Despite the rain, many devotees had lined the streets to receive the holy water blessings from the monks.
