The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was most certainly an international affair, with Rhys Millen Racing returning to do battle with the World Record holding Hyundai Genesis Coupe, a car that has also enjoyed success in Formula Drift and Time Attack competition. Paul has been setting records on Pikes Peak for over 20 years, taking the record away from Peugeot back in 1990, but you might know him better as the guy who went off into the trees after the throttle stuck in his unlimited car right off the line last year.In 2012 Rhys ran a 9:43 up to the 14110 ft summit in his Genesis Coupe racecar, and this year is back in the PM580-T, an Unlimited Class version of the Genesis, powered by a 900 HP Lambda V6 engine, to compete against the likes of Peugeot, who are back with a Le Mans effort, creating a purpose built Peugeot 208 with which Sebastien Loeb obliterated all other records running a time of 8:13.
