李建南 馬來西亜人, 祖籍中国海南省瓊海縣文市坡田园 , 早年学習於大馬藝術学院 - 於期间自学研究書法与篆刻, 愛好古董傢俱文物 . 退休后則致力自硏华楽器的製作与修复, 其中也深及馬来族群及原住民楽器的改製 ,尤以中国古琴是其重中之重的斲製專業 ,其中最具特色的是以馬来西亜本土的优質软木料為古琴的製作材料, 展現了中国以外的另一种琴韻之声 ,加上他以其独特的書法 篆刻佈局加工处理 ,使古琴作為楽器之外 更增添了它的文雅及觀赏藝術價值.
