Women are under-represented in science in the developing world. In this Nature Video we meet Patchanita Thamyongkit, an organic chemist from Thailand. She’s challenged cultural expectations to become a Professor at Bangkok’s biggest scientific establishment, Chulalongkorn University. Patchanita introduces us to her graduate students, her parents and a friend who decided to leave research to become a full-time mum.
