Ruby Bridges Hall is an American Activist best known as being the first African American child to attend an all-white New Orleans elementary school after court-ordered desegregation in 1960. Inspired by her desire to help children achieve their hopes and dreams, she formed the Ruby Bridges Foundation in 1999 to promote "the values of tolerance, respect, and appreciation of all differences".

She has been recognized around the world for her efforts and was awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal by President Bill Clinton in 2001. In 2012, Bridges Hall received an Honorary Degree from Tulane University.
