  In the Serdang old enclave there are many age-old cottage industries that are usually unseen by most of us. manaweblife takes another trip into this calm and interesting community to record an interesting traditional new year cake making facility that still uses wood-fired steamers. Take a look at this video and follow the steps of how the familiar new year cake is made in the midst of the early morning at 5.30 am  and steamed till the sun rises the next day. The video captures the serene gush of white steam across the sun's rays as the cakes are ready to be unloaded after several rounds of adding firewood and water for steaming. All in all the methods used are decades old that gives this cottage industry a classic ambience.
