Hong Kong elections – Wake-up call for Beijing? | To The Point

In Hong Kong the democratic opposition has won the local elections in a landslide. But will it also succeed to introduce democratic reforms?

ng-Shuen Lee, born in Hong Kong, works for 5 years for Deutsche Welle as TV-Reporter and for the China desk. She says: "What happens in Hong Kong should be a wake-up call for the whole world. The Chinese regime is a danger to all free societies."
Bernhard Bartsch, Asia expert with the think tank "Bertelsmann Foundation". His opinion: "Beijing’s reaction to pressure is counterpressure. Not only Hong Kong will feel it, but also the West."
Glacier Kwong, a Hong Kong native. Digital rights and political activist, currently studying in Hamburg, Germany. Her position: 
"The opposition might have won the election, but not yet the fight for human rights. The system is broken, the fight can’t stop here and it can’t stop now."
