Even Lions Show Respect To Their Ladies! | Archive Lion Footage

Many people think that in nature, and especially in lion society, the males have it all their own way. That stereotype is perpetuated in films and television yet here we see it is not always (in fact not often) the case. The big lion known as Makulu Mapogo wants to mate with a lioness from the Ximhungwe pride but she is not ready. The big lion is respectful and stays close, but not too close, as he waits for the right time. He knows that if he is not careful the lioness will turn on him in an instant and those sharp claws and teeth are not to be underestimated. This old footage is from 2011 and was never uploaded due to it not being particularly exciting. I have added it now so people can get a better insight into lion society.
