Nina's passion for art, new media and social learning led her to found Assemble in 2011, a community space for arts + technology where she serves as President of the Board of Directors. Nina also co-founded the I Made It! Market in 2007 -- an idea based on urban acupuncture, the "nomadic market" partners with community, arts, and non-profit organizations to raise funds and awareness. The activities assist in both improving host communities while also allowing local artists and crafters an opportunity to sell their wares. Nina holds degrees in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and Carnegie Mellon University. She serves as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Architecture at CMU.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
