The EU elections have seen the biggest turnout in 20 years. Participation in the European Parliamentary elections was up by ten points on five years ago. Europe's mainstream political parties have suffered big losses as Greens, liberals and nationalists have gained ground in Brussels. But voters delivered a complicated message, it’s a patchwork result from a patchwork union.
