On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Saturday October 12th 2013) we take the following viewer emails:
Jason C writes: I saw the Casting for the Fantastic Four and I dislike it Highly. Do not like it at all. I understand Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four are owned by different studios and are not owned by Disney/Marvel. Are Marvel Studios are still behind the Making of these movies (The 3 Franchises I just mention)? Or are these Movie Franchises done by different people and don't need the Green light by Marvel Studios on the Story, Casting, the Look, Writing, ect. Would love to know, Keep up the great work. I do not want Fantastic Four Babies.
Amy Resendez writes: Hey guys! I'm a huge Henry Cavill fan. A while back I had read somewhere that before they hired Daniel Craig to be the new James Bond, they wanted Henry Cavill but didn't go with him because he was too young at the time. Well, if that was true, do you think we can see him as the next James Bond? By then he should be old enough. I think he would be PERFECT! He's so elegant and handsome. Anyway, that's my question (and wish). Thanks and love the new studio.
Dennis Pierre writes: My question is about the Batman! (what a surprise). I know that Mr. Affleck is signed on for "multiple" movie deal with WB for playing the the Bat in MOS 2, possibly a stand alone, and a Justice League. My question is, who should be the Villain in the stand alone? I was thinking the Riddler, played by Johnny Depp. Any who, give me your opinions on who you think the Villain would be in a Batman stand alone movie, who you would like to see play your Villain, and do you think Johnny Depp would be interested in playing the Riddler if WB were to approach him? Take care guys! Keep up the great show!
Terry Lopez writes: Hey guys!! I love, love, love your show! I do read other movie news sites for as much news as I can get, but your insights and opinions, John, have opened my eyes to more than just write, film, cut, then watch. Thanks and keep up the great work! I was watching one your most recent episodes and was wondering why a movie studio would push back one of its movies in favor of another, ie. Wolf of Wallstreet for Jack Ryan? Why wouldn't a studio want multiple movies opening in the same time frame? Wouldn't they hold more of a monopoly of the theatres from other studios? Thanks, and again, LOVE your show!
Ed Luduke writes: Greetings everone Love the show keep it up!! In regards to the JL and possiblity of a Flash movie and the buzz of a Flash appearence on Arrow and the possibility of a Flash spin off show. Knowing that WB/DC are trying to keep these 2 universes seperate my Question is this. Do you think it is possible that they would use the Barry Allen Flash in the movie universe and one of the alternate Flashes in the TV universe kinda giving us the best of both worlds or am I just dreaming too much? What do you guys think!?
Beaver Licious writes: LOVE THE SHOW! With the recent announcement that "Anchorman 2" will come out this Christmas, do you think Warmer Bros. should bump "Grudge Match" to an earlier/later date, as not to coincide with what is sure to be the runaway comedy of the year? I know neither show is in it for the Oscars, I just believe that ANY comedy to go against "A2" is sure to lose. I will be at my AMC theatre Dec. 25th to see "Grudge Match", but I'm not sure the rest of the world would choose "GM" over "A2"... your thoughts?
