Ford recently held a Media Drive in Santa Monica California for the all-new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST Hatchback. Tim Smith who is an engineer for the Ford Special Vehicles Team was kind and gracious enough to give Autobytel a thorough walkaround review of this potent little car. Let's see what makes the ST unique from the regular Fiesta model.Check out more on the 2014 Ford Fiesta SThttp://www.autobytel.com/ford/fiesta/2014/st-hatchback/Starting out back, the ST gets a cool and aggressive body kit consisting of a rear spoiler and diffuser. Down low the dual exhaust tips have a bright chrome finish. The most striking thing about this car seen here is the Molten Orange Metal Tri-Coat paint job. This is the same paint found on the For Raptor Truck. Up front the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST features a unique fascia with a trapezoidal honeycomb mesh grille. This gives the Fiesta a sharp aggressive look to mirror that of the Focus ST.The 17-inch alloy wheels are unique to the United States. The ST model gets rear disc brakes and special brake pads. The suspension has been heavily reworked featuring new springs, dampeners, and a 75% stiffer twist beam. This upgrades to the suspension result in more handling control and a flatter cornering ability. The steering arms were shortened which quickens the ratio. The end result is a very responsive car that is a blast to drive.Under the hood lives a 1.6 liter turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine that makes 197 horsepower and 215 lb-ft. of torque. The 6-speed manual transmission helps the Fiesta ST achieve 26 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. On the inside the Fiesta ST fits the performance car treatment. The Recaro seats have color matched inserts. The seats offer the lateral support needed when charging into turns at high speeds. The Advanced Trac System features 3 modes: Normal, Sport, and the Full Off. That means when you get to the track the traction control can be turned off! The interior also features sport pedals and an upgraded steering wheel.See More Car Videoshttp://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/Join Our Facebook Pagehttp://www.facebook.com/autobytel
